Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Ink Stone website, why they are in place, and how you can manage or remove them.
Last Updated: 18 March 2025 · Applies to: inkstones.digital
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to recognise your browser on subsequent visits or to carry information between pages. Cookies are widely used to make websites function, to remember user preferences, and to collect aggregated information about how a site is used.
Some cookies are set directly by the site you are visiting (first-party cookies). Others are set by third-party services that provide functionality embedded in the site, such as analytics platforms or advertising networks. Cookies may persist after you close your browser (persistent cookies) or expire at the end of your session (session cookies).
This policy also covers related technologies — such as local storage — that perform similar functions on your device. Where distinctions are meaningful, they are noted separately in Section 9.
2. Cookies We Use
The Ink Stone website uses a limited set of cookies. We have grouped them into three categories: strictly necessary, analytics, and marketing. A brief description of each category, and the specific cookies within each, is provided in Sections 3 to 5 below.
We show a cookie consent notice on your first visit. Analytics and marketing cookies are only placed if you choose to accept them. Strictly necessary cookies are placed regardless of your selection, as they are essential to the basic operation of the site.
Our website does not use social media cookies, personalisation cookies, or any form of cross-site tracking beyond the services described in this policy.
3. Strictly Necessary Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies enable core functionality. Without them, parts of the website may not operate correctly. These cookies do not collect personal information for marketing purposes and cannot be declined through our consent notice.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ink_cookie_consent | Ink Stone | Records whether the visitor has responded to the cookie consent notice, so it is not displayed repeatedly. | 12 months |
| PHPSESSID | Ink Stone | Standard PHP session identifier. Maintains session continuity while you navigate between pages on the site. | Session |
4. Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the website. The information collected is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors. We use this data to understand which pages are visited, how long visitors typically remain on the site, and where visitors arrive from. This informs decisions about content and structure.
Analytics cookies are only placed if you accept them through the cookie consent notice. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your cookies and declining when the consent notice is shown again on your next visit.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (GA4) | Registers a unique identifier to generate statistical data about how visitors use the site. | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics (GA4) | Maintains session state across page requests during a single visit. | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Registers a unique identifier to distinguish users; used for daily session statistics. | 24 hours |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity / Bing | Persists the Clarity user ID and preferences, unique to the site, to attribute sessions to the same user across visits. | 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity / Bing | Connects multiple page views in a single session and identifies the session source. | 24 hours |
Google Analytics and Data Processing
Google Analytics processes data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We have enabled IP anonymisation for all GA4 data collected through this site. Aggregated reports do not include individually identifiable information. For further detail on how Google handles this data, refer to Google's data processing terms at policies.google.com.
5. Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies are used to understand how visitors arrive at the site from advertising campaigns and to assess the general effectiveness of those campaigns. We do not use marketing cookies to build individual profiles, serve targeted advertising, or track visitors across unrelated websites for commercial purposes beyond the attribution functions described here.
Marketing cookies are only placed if you accept them through the cookie consent notice.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook Pixel) | Used by Meta to identify browsers for the purposes of advertising and site analytics when visitors have interacted with Meta ads. | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta (Facebook Pixel) | Stores the last click attribution data from any ad click; used to associate a visit with a prior advertising interaction. | 90 days |
| MUID | Microsoft / Bing Ads | Identifies unique web browsers visiting Microsoft sites, used for advertising and analytics across Bing-affiliated properties. | 1 year |
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some functionality on this website is provided by third-party services. These services may place their own cookies on your device when the relevant embedded content is loaded. We do not control the cookies set by third parties, and their use is governed by each provider's own privacy and cookie policies.
The following third-party services may set cookies through their embedded components on this site:
- Google Maps — The contact section of our homepage embeds a Google Maps frame to display our office location. Google may set cookies when this map is loaded. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for detail.
- Google Fonts — Typography resources are loaded from Google's font delivery network. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how font request data is handled.
- Font Awesome — Icon assets are loaded via the Cloudflare CDN and Font Awesome's delivery service. Refer to Cloudflare's and Font Awesome's respective policies for detail.
We regularly review which third-party services are embedded on this site. If a new integration introduces cookies that are not yet reflected in this policy, we will update this document at the next scheduled review.
7. Cookie Duration
Cookies fall into two duration categories:
- Session cookies expire when you close your browser. They hold no information after your session ends.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period, or until you delete them. The specific duration for each cookie used on this site is listed in the tables above.
If you clear your browser's cookies at any time, persistent cookies from this site will be removed and your consent preferences will be reset. You will be shown the cookie consent notice again on your next visit.
8. Managing Your Cookies
You may accept or decline analytics and marketing cookies at any time. The most straightforward approach is to clear your cookies through your browser settings and then revisit the site, at which point the consent notice will be shown again.
You may also manage cookies directly through your browser. All major browsers allow you to view, delete, block, or restrict cookies. The steps vary by browser:
- Google Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
- Safari — Settings › Safari › Privacy & Security
- Microsoft Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
Please be aware that blocking or removing cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be removed without potentially impairing your experience on the site.
Opt-Out Tools Provided by Third Parties
Several third-party providers offer their own opt-out mechanisms:
- Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (browser add-on)
- Meta Ad Preferences: www.facebook.com/ads/preferences
- Microsoft Advertising opt-out: available through your Microsoft account privacy settings
9. Local Storage and Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, this website uses local storage — a browser feature that allows small amounts of data to be stored on your device without an expiry date, unless cleared by you or by the site.
Local storage on this site is used solely to remember your cookie consent preference (ink_cookie_consent) between sessions, so that you are not shown the consent notice on every visit after you have already responded to it.
Local storage data is accessible only to this website and is not transmitted across the network in the same way cookies are. You can clear local storage data through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. In most browsers, clearing site data or cookies and site data will remove local storage entries for this domain.
10. Updates to This Policy
We review this cookie policy periodically and update it when the cookies used on the site change, when regulations require it, or when third-party services we use are modified. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
If we make a change that materially expands the categories of cookies we use, we will show the consent notice again to give you an opportunity to review and reconfirm your preferences.
We recommend checking this page from time to time if cookie use is a matter of concern for you.
